The Newman Center
- Assists the University’s Lamont School of Music and Department of Theatre and their 200+ yearly performances, many of which are free and all open to the public.
- Coordinates performances and events by dozens of Denver-based arts, civic and corporate organizations, such as Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, United Way, Denver Brass and Friends of Chamber Music.
- Selects and present an eclectic array of world-renowned performers in a subscription series called Newman Center Presents.
By the end of this third season, we will have presented 37 different performances, in more than nine different performing art disciplines, including over 19 regional, Colorado or Denver premieres. This season we also co-commissioned a new work, Paquito D’Rivera’s “Kites Over Havana.” By the end of this season our presented artists will have given 22 educational outreach programs for elementary, middle, high school and college students.
American universities are among the greatest patrons and presenters of the performing arts in the United States. The Newman Center is proud to be among those presenters. Our goal is to provide opportunities for you to experience the great diversity of the performing arts and the diversity of expressions of the human experience, especially from acclaimed artists who have not otherwise had the opportunity to share their art with Denver.
The Newman Center is operated for the benefit of both community and campus. But only half the costs of our operations are covered by ticket sales. Our ability to continue to enrich and expand the performing arts in Denver depends on the support of generous donors and sponsors who believe in our mission. Please help us continue providing excellence in cultural and artistic opportunities and experiences for students and citizens of all ages by making a tax-deductible gift. Thank you for your generous support.
Sincerely,

Stephen W. Seifert
