Research Partnerships

Environmental research is an important component of the environmental programs at the University of Denver, and students are encouraged to participate with faculty on research projects of mutual interest. Many of these collaborative efforts result in presentations at professional meetings or are published in the scientific literature. A number of opportunities exist to facilitate collaboration of faculty and students in environmental research.

Undergraduate Summer Research Program

The Undergraduate Summer Research Program is designed to provide financial support for students interested in spending the summer conducting research with a member of the faculty. Funded by the W.M. Keck Foundation, this program provides a summer salary for the student as well as funding for research materials.

Partners in Scholarship

Partners in Scholarship is a university program designed to pair students with faculty in collaborative research projects. Students design and undertake their own research under the guidance of a member of the DU faculty. Awards are made each quarter, providing a number of students with the opportunity to conduct environmental research each year.

Independent Research

Students may elect to undertake independent research projects of their own design and receive academic credit at the end of the project.
