The Bachelor of Science in Physics/Master of Science in Engineering (BS/MS) program allows a student to complete both a BS in physics and an MS in Engineering in only five years. This is an attractive option for those who want to combine a strong theoretical background with experience in engineering applications. Any subfield of engineering is eligible; see sample curricula for mechanical engineering and electrical engineering.
The Bachelor of Arts or Science in Physics/Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction (BS/MA) and Teaching License option combines courses provided by the Department of Physics and Astronomy and by the DU College of Education for those seeking a career in K-6 to K-12 education.
For more information on any of these programs, please contact a Physics and Astronomy adviser. Students interested in these options should discuss them with an adviser as early as possible in their undergraduate careers.
