My research group uses ultrafast lasers to understand transport of fundamental energy carriers in and near nanostructures. In particular, we are interested in observing how heat flow away from a nanoscale hotspot deviates from the diffusive transport expected in a bulk material. We are also setting up to do 2D spectroscopy of coherent energy transport in biological and nanostructured samples. The energy transfer processes studied in this work are relevant to heat-sinking of nanocircuits and solar energy conversion. For more about my research, see the Siemens Research Lab website.
