Membership

Undergraduate Students

Full time or part time undergraduate students majoring in accounting or finance with an accounting minor are eligible for membership if:

  • A cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) is held at the time of initiation;
  • The student has reached junior status or have started the Junior Core
  • Personality and moral character is acceptable to membership.

Transferred Undergraduate Students

Transferred undergraduate students from accredited colleges and universities shall be eligible for membership under the same qualifications as regular undergraduate students. Grade point requirements and course requirements shall be measured after conversion to the University of Denver system.

Graduate Students

Graduate students are eligible if:

  • A concentration in accounting has been declared.
  • Two quarters of graduate accounting study at the University of Denver have been completed (i.e., a minimum of 8 hours of upper-level accounting courses are either complete or in progress)
  • A cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 is held in all courses taken as a graduate student. If cumulative grade point average of 3.0 is not maintained, such membership will be terminated immediately.
  • A grade point average of 3.0 is attained in accounting courses taken as a graduate student.
  • Personality and moral character is acceptable to membership.

Transferred Graduate Students

Transfer graduate students shall be eligible for membership under the same qualifications as regular graduate students. Grade point requirements shall be measured after conversion to the University of Denver system.

Transferred Members

Members of other Beta Alpha Psi chapters will be accepted immediately after transferring to the University of Denver and meeting the requirements of School of Accountancy status, and will thus be subject to the same bylaws as continuing members of Alpha Zeta Chapter.

Faculty Members

Full-time faculty members of University of Denver shall be accepted as faculty members of the Alpha Zeta Chapter.

Honorary Members

Honorary membership may be appointed (by vote of membership) to any practicing accountant who has made outstanding contributions to the field of accounting.
