Daniels Entrepreneurship Society to do Society-wide reading of The First Thirty
Book highlights college experience, using entrepreneurial skills to help others.

In late February, Jefferson Award for Public Service honoree Greg Forbes Siegman will be speaking at a number of events in Denver. In conjunction with his visit, Daniels Entrepreneurship Society will be doing a Society-wide reading of The First Thirty.

Authored by Jillip Naysinthe Paxson, The First Thirty is based on Siegman’s full-circle journey from college reject to honored graduate to philanthropist helping other overlooked students get to college, and the first thirty lessons learned from his successes and failures along the way.

Daniels Entrepreneurship Society is comprised of undergraduate students at University of Denver. The Society holds biweekly meetings featuring world-class entrepreneurs. It also facilitates a student-run business and business plan competitions.

Seth Brodie, Chief Executive Officer of Daniels Entrepreneurship Society, said, “The goal of the DES is to promote a spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation. Those kinds of skills can be used to make a profit, but they can also be used to make a difference in the world. The First Thirty is all about doing just that – young people using entrepreneurial skills to help others – so it was a perfect fit with what our organization strives to be and strives to do.”

Siegman, who was recently honored at Princeton University as one of America’s top social entrepreneurs under 40, will be speaking to students at Denver Academy. He will also be appearing at a special event for students from University of Denver, Colorado State University and University of Colorado at Boulder who hold leadership positions within Hillel of Colorado, and who have been reading The First Thirty this month.

The First Thirty is available at Borders in Englewood.
