“Friendship Bridge” in Guatemala
97% of loans are repaid – predominantly due to social collaboration – where 5 women go in on the loan together
Micro-credit loans is considered a hand up rather than a hand out.  Money is loaned out to women in small amounts.  They buy the supplies they need (for weaving, selling produce) and sell their products and pay back loans.

Not given to men – women traditionally use for children

We can raise money which will be sent to the women in Guatemala

Additional services of Friendship Bridge
1. non formal education for participants - meet on a monthly or bimonthly basis to pay off loan
2. locally hired loan officers – delivers lessons for the needed basic life - training
3. children’s education – money as scholarships for children of borrowers
