Proposal Review & Approval (PR&A)
What is the PR&A?
The PR&A is a document that must be forwarded to the ORSP with or prior to any grant/contract application. The PR&A includes components such as: project title and date, faculty release time information, tuition cost-share details for GRA's, special certification information, and required signatures from the Dean and Departmental Chair.
Who signs the PR&A and when?
Based upon feedback from Deans and Chairs and SPARC (Sponsored Programs Academic Research Council) members, the following signature requirements have been adopted:
1. In all cases the PR&A needs to have the signature of the Principal Investigator/Project Director and the Chair (the Dean for the College of Education, Graduate School of International Studies, Graduate School of Professional Psychology, Graduate School of Social Work, College of Law, Penrose Library, Undergraduate Studies and University College),
2. The signature of the Dean is required when there is a request for direct cost-share (including tuition cost-share), faculty release time, additional space and/or remodeling, and when a program involves curriculum changes/additions.
3. The signature of the Vice Provost for Research is required when there is indirect cost-share or equipment matching request.
