• Travel outside the U.S. can present export control issues for faculty, staff and students.

• Shipping items outside the U.S. could require a license from OFAC, the Department of State, or the BIS.

• A key in determining whether certain equipment requires an export license is knowing whether the item you are intending to export has a specific Export Control Classification Number (ECCN).
