The University of Denver uses the Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare - OLAW as a basis for developing and implementing our institutional animal care and use program.

Any individual proposing to use animals is required to obtain approval from the D.U. Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). "Animal" is defined as "any live, vertebrate animal used or intended for use in research, research training, teaching, experimentation or biological testing or for related purposes."
