Nobel Laureates issue historic call to action

The largest gathering of Nobel Peace Laureates ever to occur outside of the Nobel Peace Prize Foundation in Norway came to The University of Denver Sept. 15-17, 2006, as PeaceJam celebrated its 10th Anniversary.

PeaceJam is an Arvada, Colo.-based organization that brings together Nobel Peace Prize winners to work with the youth of the world.

The Nobel winners issued a global call-to-action for 3,000 teenage PeaceJam delegates from the United States and 10 other countries. Events included an 8,000-seat event featuring all laureates, an internationally televised press conference, a concert in honor of the laureates and young leaders of the PeaceJam program, a one-hour television special and master classes taught by Nobel Laureates.
