DU students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members are asked to volunteer for PHC6 on May 9, 2008. Please carefully read the descriptions of each volunteer opportunity listed below prior to starting your registration.

There are opportunities to volunteer in a number of different capacities for PHC6 - on the day of - and leading up to the event. When you are ready, please click on the following link to register to volunteer. When you register, you will be asked to choose your date/time for your volunteer training.  Please make note of what date/time you choose for training, as your confirmation will not print your training date/time. Further information about training locations and parking can be found below.

Descriptions of Volunteer Opportunities:

PRE EVENT
Facility set-up – 40 volunteers needed
Assist with set-up of the Gates Field House and West Concourse of the Ritchie Center on Thursday evening, May 8th. Set-up includes placement of tables and chairs, pick-up and delivery of supplies, etc. Volunteers need to arrive at 4pm and stay until set up is completed. Estimated completion time is 10pm.

DAY OF PHC6 – May 9, 2008: All volunteers for the projects listed below will be required to attend one of the below listed training sessions prior to PHC6:

4/28: 12-1pm (Gottesfeld Room); 4-5pm (Gottesfeld Room)
4/29: 12-1pm (Sturm Hall, 451); 4-5pm (Gottesfeld Room)
4/30: 7-8pm (Sturm Hall, 451)
5/1: 4-5pm (Gottesfeld Room)
5/3: 9-10am (Gottesfeld Room)
*The Gottesfeld Room is located on the 4th floor of the Ritchie Center at 2201 E. Asbury Ave. Sturm Hall is located at 2000 E. Asbury Ave. There is pay-by-the-hour parking at various visitor parking lots on campus: www.du.edu/maps/parking.html

Volunteer Projects: (all of the following opportunities require a full day commitment, unless otherwise noted)

AT THIS TIME, the only volunteer opportunity that is available to register for is Client Support Services from 8am-3pm
Client Support volunteers are paired one-on-one with clients and will help them prioritize and navigate services provided at PHC6. This is a great opportunity to become familiar with services offered to homeless individuals and families and to interact with a client for the day. Please arrive promptly at the start of your volunteer shift! Volunteers should check in on the north side of the Ritchie Center (Buchtel Ave.)

*You must attend one of the final training sessions:
5/1: 4-5pm (Gottesfeld Room)
5/3: 9-10am (Gottesfeld Room)
*The Gottesfeld Room is located on the 4th floor of the Ritchie Center at 2201 E. Asbury Ave. Sturm Hall is located at 2000 E. Asbury Ave. There is pay-by-the-hour parking at various visitor parking lots on campus: www.du.edu/maps/parking.html

Directions to the University of Denver for Project Homeless Connect

Directions from I-25 North
-Take Exit 205, University Boulevard South.
-On the ramp, veer to the left, this will lead you onto University Boulevard heading South.
-Continue on University to Buchtel Boulevard (just north of Evans Ave.), and take a left on Buchtel.
-From Buchtel, turn left into Parking Lot 108, which is about a block East of University Boulevard.
-From the lot, walk West on Buchtel, toward University Boulevard, cross University, and continue walking West.
-The Ritchie Center will be on your left hand side, about a half block from University.
-The building entrance is up the stairs, facing Buchtel Boulevard.
-For an accessible entrance, look for a ramp to the left of the stairs, go in through the doors and you will be directed to an elevator that can take you upstairs to the Concourse.  

Directions From I-25 South
