The Grounds

The five and one half acres of formal gardens and grounds of the Phipps Conference Center were designed by Annette Hoyt Flanders in the style of the "Country Place Era" of landscape architecture. The formal William and Mary inspired gardens are framed by pergolas and brick walls and feature a diversity of annuals, perennials, and roses. The landscape also includes sweeping lawns, a automobile "parking garden" and comfortable terrace and courtyard areas.

The gardens and grounds of the Phipps Conference Center were featured as one of the outstanding private gardens of the country in the Home and Garden Network's "Secret Gardens of America". The gardens are part of the Archives of American Gardens at the Smithsonian Institution. The estate was also named as the Reader's Choice as the Top Spot of an Outdoor Wedding in the Denver area in "5280 - Denver's Mile-High Magazine."
