Historical Photos

These photographs were taken of the Phipps Mansion, the Phipps Tennis Pavilion, and the formal gardens between the late 1930's and the mid 1940's. Considering that the Phipps Estate is not maintained as a "house museum" it is astonishing how little the buildings and grounds have changed over the past 70 years - in a way it is like stepping back in time.
