Partners in Scholarship (PinS) supports undergraduate research and creative projects by distributing quarterly grants through a competitive application process.

PinS provides a unique opportunity for students to enhance their undergraduate experience through a collaborative research project. With the assistance of a faculty partner, students design and execute a project that involves in-depth study in their specific area of interest.

PinS funding helps cover the expenses necessary to ensure the completion and success of the project. Expenses may include supplies such as books, software, or lab equipment, travel for research, or materials like props for a play. Students may request up to $1500 each quarter. Early applications for 2008 Fall Quarter are due May 7 , 2008. (There will be a second application round for 2008 fall quarter PinS in September.)  More information and the PinS application.

Enhance your undergraduate experience
In addition to quarterly grants, PinS supports a variety of academic opportunities for undergraduates.

• Symposium: A Conference of Undergraduate Research is an annual event that brings together all undergraduates who have engaged in research or in-depth study to present their work.
• The Student Scholar Travel Fund provides up to $1500 for students to travel to an academic conference, scholarly meeting or to complete research.
• Summer Research Grants offers undergraduates meaningful research experience working with a faculty member.
• Symposium: A Journal of Undergraduate Scholarship offers students the chance to participate in an opportunity not usually available to undergraduates -- the production and publication of scholarly papers. Volume 2 is available today! Stop by Driscoll South, Room 6 to pick up your FREE copy.
