What is the Pioneer ID Card Office and where is it located?

How do I know if I have a Flex account?
All students, faculty and staff have an active Flex account on their card. However, you need to deposit money to start using the Flex Account.
My card is not working at the Off Campus Merchants.
You must deposit funds to a Flex account in order to purchase items at the off campus merchants. Your Meal Plan Cash will NOT work off campus.
What is the cost of my very first Pioneer ID card?
It's free!
How long does it take for funds to deposit into my Flex account?
Online deposits usually process within one to two minutes.
Deposits made through the ID office process the next morning.
Deposits made through the VTS machine are processed immediately.
Where can I use my Meal Plan account?
Your Meal Plan Account can be used at the on campus dinning halls. They are located in Centennial Halls and Nelson Hall.
What do I need to get a Pioneer Card?
In order to receive your ID Card, you must be registered for classes and must present a photo ID to the ID office. Cards are not issued until at least 30 days before classes begin.
The process takes a couple of minutes and does require a picture. No hats allowed for picture.
I am graduating this quarter, how do I get a refund on my remaining Flex balance?
Please come into the ID office to fill out a request form.  A check will be mailed from the University in about 10 days. Refunds can only be made in the cases of leaving the University or at the end of an academic quarter.
Where can I use my Meal Plan Cash account?
On campus only.  It can be used at any of the coffee shops, convenient stores, and restaurants in Driscoll.
Do I need a new Pioneer Card each academic year?
NO.  Your Pioneer Card is designed to last throughout your time at the University.
Note: Replacement IDs are $20.
I am withdrawing from the university, how do I get a refund on my remaining Flex balance?
Please come into the ID office to fill out a request form. A check will be mailed from the University in about 10 days. Refunds can only be made in the cases of leaving the University or at the end of an academic quarter.
After 1 year of inactivity the University will charge a $5 monthly fee for inactive accounts.
My printing money is not working in the library at the copiers.
Free printing money only works in the on campus printers, not the copiers. In order to use your card at the copiers you must deposit Flex money.
If I am returning next year, what happens to the money in my Flex account?
All funds on your Flex account roll over from year to year and quarter to quarter, unless you request a refund.
What should I do if a merchant overcharges my account?
If a merchant runs a transaction through multiple times or enters the incorrect amount, present a copy of your statement to the manager at that vendor and request a refund. A copy of your recent transactions may be printed from your online account, or you may obtain a printout of your statement at the Pioneer ID Office.
How do I convert Meals and Meal Plan Cash?
Please come to the ID office fill out a form to convert meals. All meals convert at a $3.50 rate. You do not receive cash back for the conversion, money is simply moved between Meal Plan and Meal Plan Cash. The deadline to convert is usually 3 weeks before the end of the quarter.

If I am returning next year, what happens to the money in my Flex account?
All funds on your Flex account roll over from year and quarter to quarter, unless you request a refund.
Why were funds removed from my Flex account by the system administrator?
Funds are typically removed from a Flex account due to an inaccurate charge at the University Bookstore or changes to your account such as dropping a meal plan.
How do I change my Meal Plan for next quarter?
Please contact the Department of Residence at 303-871-2246 to make this change.
If I have a Pioneer with my social security number printed on the front, can I get a new Pioneer card?
Yes! And it's free! Bring your old Pioneer Card with you and we will make you a new one in about 2 minutes.
Who should I contact if I was charged inaccurately at a computer lab?
Please contact the UTS help desk at 303-871-4700. They will direct you to the appropriate person.
I can't make charges against my Printing account, what do I do?
Please come to the ID Office, and we will verify your student status and add the printing funds.
Who do I tell about a merchant that would be a good candidate to take Flex?
Please have the merchant contact the Pioneer ID Card office at (303) 871-4545.
Can I get a refund on my remaining Copy Card balance?
Deposits to Copy Cards issued from the VTS machine or the ID Office are permanent. Refunds are not issued on remaining Copy Card balances.
Please take care to make sure you only deposit as much as you need on a Copy Card.
 
My ID card is not working at the Ritchie Center.
All students taking 6 or more credits receive free access to the Ritchie Center. If your card is not working, please see the ID office.
If you are a part time student, continuous enrollment student, or faculty/staff member, please contact the Ritchie Center front desk for assistance.

What should I do if I lose my card or it is stolen?
Immediately report the lost or stolen ID Card to the ID Office. You should also immediately deactivate your card online through the Card Management website.
Replacement cards are $20.
 
My ID card is not working at my parking lot.
Please contact Parking Services at 303-871-3210.

What do I do if my card is stolen, and then used to make a purchase?
Immediately deactivate your card online through the Card Management website. Then contact the ID Office at 303-871-4545 and explain what happened.
The ID Office will then make any necessary contacts and determine the appropriate action. Stolen fund situations are handled on a case by case basis.
 
My ID card is not working at my academic building.
All building access is handled through the departmental offices.  Please see your department, and they will add your access for you.
