Back to top What do I need in order to obtain a Pioneer ID card?In order to receive a card you must present a photo ID, have paid your admissions deposit, and be within 30 days from the beginning of your accepted term. Students are issued their first Pioneer ID Card at no charge. Back to top Do I receive a new Pioneer ID Card every year?The Pioneer ID Card does not expire as long as you are a current student. A new card will not be issued each year. Back to top What should I do if my Pioneer ID Card is lost or stolen?Immediately deactivate the lost or stolen card online. You can also contact the Pioneer ID Card Office in person or by phone at 303-871-4545 to have the card deactivated. To receive a replacement card, simply visit the ID Office during normal office hours. The fee is $20 for a lost card, but may be waived if you present a valid police report detailing the theft of your card. Please return found cards to the Pioneer ID Card Office. Back to top How much does a new Pioneer ID Card cost?Lost cards can be replaced for $20.00. Damaged cards can be replaced for only $5.00. Back to top What should I do if my Pioneer ID Card is stolen and used to make a purchase?Immediately deactivate the stolen card online. Then contact the Pioneer ID Card Office at 303-871-4545 and explain what happened. The ID Office will then make any necessary contacts and determine the appropriate action. Stolen fund situations are handled on a case by case basis. Back to top Flex Account QuestionsWhat is the Flex account?The Flex account is our flexible spending (debit) account. This account provides security and convenience. You need not carry cash. Your Pioneer Card can be used to make purchases on and off campus for a variety of products and services. Funds are secure, as account balances are maintained on a central database in the University's central computer room. As long as you report a lost or stolen ID card immediately, your account balance is protected. Back to top How do I know if I have a Flex account?All students, staff, and faculty have a Flex account. You just need to make a deposit and you're ready to go! Back to top How do I make a deposit to my Flex account?You can make deposits online with a credit card, or in the ID Office with cash or check. Cash deposits to your Flex account can also be made in Driscoll Center North at the account management kiosk located to the right of the Information Desk. Back to top How long does it take for funds to deposit into my Flex account?Funds deposited online or at the account management kiosk are available for use immediately. Deposits made in the ID Office are available for use the following morning. The minimum deposit required is $1.00. Back to top Is there a fee for using Flex?There are no fees for using or depositing to your Flex account. However, you should be sure to spend all of your funds, or request a refund, before you graduate. Cards inactive for over 12 months will be charged a $5.00 monthly service charge. Back to top Where can I use Flex?Flex is accepted at the following locations: On-Campus Off-Campus Back to top Will my Flex funds be available next quarter?Flex funds roll over from quarter to quarter and year to year. You will have access to your funds as long as you are a current student. Back to top Can I withdraw cash from my Flex account?Cash cannot be withdrawn from the Flex account. Back to top How do I request a refund of my remaining Flex balance?Refunds may be requested through the ID Office. You can obtain a Flex Refund Request form here, or in the ID Office. Refunds will be made by check or direct deposit. Refunds can only be made at the end of the academic year, when graduating, for an official stop out, when all classes are dropped, or for account closure. Back to top What should I do if a merchant overcharges my Flex account?If a merchant runs a transaction through multiple times or charges an incorrect amount, present a copy of your statement to the manager at that merchant and request a refund. A copy of your recent transactions can be printed from your account online, or you may obtain a statement from the ID Office. Back to top Why is my Pioneer ID Card not working at off-campus merchants?You must deposit funds to your Flex account in order to make purchases at off-campus merchants. Your meal plan cash will NOT work off campus. You can make deposits online with a credit card, or in the ID Office with cash or check. Cash deposits to your Flex account can also be made in Driscoll Center North at the account management kiosk located to the right of the Information Desk. Back to top Meal Plan QuestionsDo I need a meal plan?All first-year and second-year students are required to have a meal plan and must choose either the Unlimited, 100-Block, or 75-Block meal plan. Back to top Printing & Copying QuestionsWhat is the Uniprint account?The Uniprint account is a University supplied printing account. It can only be used for printing at the public printers located throughout campus. All registered students receive a set amount of Uniprint funds per term. After all of your Uniprint funds have been spent, Flex funds may be used to print at the public printers. You can make Flex deposits online with a credit card, or in the ID Office with cash or check. Back to top How much does copying cost?Using your Pioneer Card at the library copiers saves you 5 cents per copy. Copies using Flex cost $0.10 per page, and copies using coin cost $0.15 per page. Only your Flex account can be used at the copiers. Uniprint can only be used for printing, not copying. Back to top If I am a visitor to campus, how can I use the printers and copiers?In order to use the public printers on campus, you must purchase and make a deposit to a copy card. You can purchase copy cards from the account management kiosk located in Driscoll Center North to the right of the Information Desk. You can also purchase copy cards from the ID Office in Driscoll Center South. We do not issue refunds from copy cards, so be sure to only deposit as much as you need.
