Current Research

I am currently working on the coordination of services and payments for evacuees from Hurricane Katrina. This work on social welfare and dependency intersects with a larger project on paper and the production of identity in the late bureaucratic welfare state, which includes analysis of a politics of birth certificates for families with two parents of the same sex, of gender identity under the European Convention on Human Rights, and of documenting a household to claim benefits after Hurricane Katrina.
