KIM GORGENS, PHD, ABPP, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Kim has been with the University of Denver since 2001 when she began teaching at the Graduate School of Professional Psychology. Since the beginning of her career, her passion for excellence in education has fueled professional development and continuing education at GSPP and now, the University of Denver with the inception of the Center for Professional Development under her leadership. Her vision is that the Center for Professional Development offer the best in interprofessional education and be a resource for post-degree educational excellence across all disciplines.
SHANNON GRAY, MS, ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, MARKETING DIRECTOR
Shannon is a strategic communication professional with extensive experience executing strategic plans to increase constituent engagement through public relations and marketing efforts. Skilled in crafting goal-oriented communication campaigns for university, corporate and non-profit clients. Expertise in identifying target publics and creating key messaging themes to best satisfy the organization's communication goals.
JANALEE CARD CHMEL, MA, WRITER AND MARKETING
Janalee is a Denver freelance writer. She assists the Center for Professional Development with course development and descriptions. Janalee has been writing professionally since 1988, earning national recognition in fundraising, marketing, multimedia, video and creative writing. Janalee earned a B.A. in journalism and political science from Rutgers University and an M.A. from the University of Denver in creative writing.
Wendy Fish, MBA, Strategy & Operations Officer
Wendy, partner and lead consultant with DenverData.Works, is working closely with CPD's executive team to create value and sustainability during their initial pilot years. At Dell Inc., Wendy was identified for her ability to build "something special from nothing" and selected to develop and direct the administration of the office of the chairman. As Assistant Dean within the Morgridge College of Education/University of Denver, Wendy built complex net revenue models to accurately predict actuals and identified scholarship opportunities to improve student access. Additionally, she was instrumental in the planning and strategic conception of the Center for Professional Development.
DEANNA METROPOULOS, MA, STUDENT EVENT CHAIR, WEBMASTER AND GRAPHIC DESIGNer
Deanna assists in planning and organizing CPD's events, as well as contributing input to the media channels. She also designs and creates event flyers and manages CPD's website. Deanna holds a Master of Arts degree in Forensic Psychology and Bachelor of Arts degrees in criminology and psychology from the University of Denver. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology at DU's Graduate School of Professional Psychology.
NATALIA WANNON, STUDENT EVENT CHAIR
Natalia's contributions to CPD also includes event planning and coordination and lending her vision to CPD programming by researching topics and speakers. Natalia holds a BS degree in psychology and brain & cognitive sciences from the University of Rochester, and is a PsyD candidate in clinical psychology at DU's Graduate School of Professional Psychology
RACHEL LAHODA, STUDENT EVENT CHAIR
Rachel organizes and plans events, and helps to foster professional and institutional connections between CPD and the community. Rachel holds a BS degree in psychology from the University of Colorado and is a PsyD candidate in clinical psychology at DU's Graduate School of Professional Psychology.
VANESSA FULTZ, STUDENT EVENT CHAIR
Vanessa assists in planning and organizing CPD's events, contributing to social media channels, and fostering professional and institutional connections between CPD and the community. Vanessa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology with a minor in criminal justice from Bloomsburg University and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in forensic psychology at DU's Graduate School of Professional Psychology.
Dani Hamilton, MS, STUDENT Marketing CHAIR
Dani is currently a Clinical Psychology doctoral student at the University of Denver. She is the Student Marketing and Social Media Chair for the Center for Professional Development. She plans and organizes CPD's social content calendar, as well as assisting with CPD's website and digital marketing. Dani received an MS in psychology at Drexel in 2012, an MS in Criminal Justice and Forensic Psychology from the University of New Haven in 2010, and a BS in Criminal Justice and Psychology at Sam Houston State University in 2008.
Abigail Jay, STUDENT EVENT CHAIR
Abby works with the Center for Professional Development helping plan and host events. Abby holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Brevard College. She is pursing her graduate degree in Forensic Psychology at Denver University's Graduate School of Professional Psychology.
Victoria halpern, STUDENT EVENT CHAIR
Victoria is a Student Chair for the Center for Professional Development at the University of Denver. She aids in helping plan, organize, and host various interdisciplinary events for continuing education for professionals. Victoria received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Arizona State University. She is currently attending DU's Graduate School of Professional Psychology and is pursuing a Master's degree in Forensic Psychology.
Jordan Meyer, STUDENT EVENT CHAIR
Jordan Meyer grew up in Parker, Colorado where he graduated from Ponderosa High School. After graduating he served a two year service mission in Southern California. He attended Utah Valley University where he received a B.S degree in psychology and is currently in the M.A Counseling Psychology program at the University of Denver. Jordan is a Student Chair for the Center for Professional Development.
