Programs For Licensed Professionals

FOR LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

Master Clinician Certificate

Mental Health Clinicians (psychologists, LAC, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, pastoral counselors, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses. etc.) can earn a specialty training designation in the area of their choice through the Advanced Practice Institute at the Graduate School of Professional Psychology and the Center for Professional Development. Interested persons will complete one consultation series group and 20 hours of CPD programming to earn this specialty designation. Our consultation series features the leading experts in Intersubjective, Integrative, Psychodynamic, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Couple and Family Therapy, Diversity Issues, Forensic Assessment, Geropsychology or Health Psychology and run for either 10 or 26 weeks at a time. The group meets weekly for 2 hours and is designed for intensive case consultation and professional exploration. The remaining 20 hours can be earned at any of our specialty workshops, seminars, Clinical Spotlight series events and more.

Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC) Certification Program

The Center for Professional Development is proud to offer Certified Addiction Counseling (CAC) trainings at the University of Denver. Choose from a la carte options for the seven courses or take them consecutively during our CAC Camp! Additionally, CPD is offering LAC Exam Prep courses and a substance abuse consultation series for those who have completed their CAC training. Our certified instructors Thea Wessel (LPC, MAC, LAC) and Erin Gazelka (JD, MA, LPC, LAC) will lead you to complete the courses you need for certification.

STEM for Professionals

STEM for Grown-ups is a suite of immersive STEM education programs that give professionals the very best in interdisciplinary, collaborative training in critical thinking. In partnership with Silicon STEM Academy, our participants can choose from workshops to short courses to certificates in Robotics, Programming, Electronics and more. 

CPD-Silicon STEM Academy accredited courses are offered for transcripted University of Denver CEU credit and meet the needs of professionals for licensure. Interested professionals can also earn a specialty certificate by completing a sequence of any 3 of the Silicon STEM Academy intensives.

Early Childhood Special Education - Certification program by Morgridge College of Education

The Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Certificate is a 24-credit hour program that focuses on expanded learning opportunities for students interested in specialized work with young children (birth to 8 years) with developmental delays and disabilities. Students in the ECSE certificate program will develop knowledge and practical skills needed to work successfully with inclusive Early Childhood Education (ECE) programs within public schools, private programs, and community agencies that serve families with children with developmental delays, disabilities, or have at-risk characteristics and qualities.

The ECSE certificate program is intended for individuals that already have a MA degree in ECE, ECSE (or a related field) and a Colorado teacher's license, and widh to add the ECSE Specialist Endorsement to their existing license.

The ECSE certificate program is a University-Approved program identified by Colorado Department of Education and the Colorado Department of Higher Education.
