Summer Research Opportunities
for Undergraduates
Research Opportunities in the Lab
Students interested in volunteering in the lab over the summer to gain research experience may contact Professor Snyder at ksnyder@nova.psy.du.edu. Students who are not enrolled at the University of Denver will need to provide a letter of recommendation from a faculty member at their college or university. Summer volunteers are expected to work 15 to 20 hours per week, including at least 3 weekday mornings, for 10 weeks.
Summer Research Opportunities at other Universities
Summer research programs are excellent opportunities to gain intensive research experience in a particular field, and look great on your vita when you apply to grad school. These programs typically last for 10 - 12 weeks over the summer, and provide for travel, room and board, and usually a stipend (~$4,000 for the summer). Applications are competitive, and deadlines are typically in early January/February. The following are several excellent programs:
| > | This program at the University of Oregon has summer research opportunities in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, and various areas in Biology. |
| > | This program at the University of Minnesota has summer research opportunities in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, Neuroscience, and other areas of Biology, as well as Child Development. |
