Our Sister Study
Meet Our Team
The GEM Study (Gene, Environment & Mood) is a multi-method, three-year longitudinal study examining both genetic and environmental influences on child and adolescent mental health outcomes. In particular, we are studying the effects of genetic contribution and environmental variables on mood disorders such as anxiety and depression. We are interested in how genes may play a role in things like personality, emotional expression, ways of thinking, and ways of coping with stress. Additionally, we are interested in family functioning, academics, and social networks. We want to know how all of these things work together to help foster a healthy and happy adolescence for Denver area children, teenagers, and young adults.
