Graduate Program Facilities

The Psychology Department is centrally located on campus. We have excellent computer facilities and support services. Research subjects are available from undergraduate classes and from public and private schools and day care centers. We also have contacts with local hospitals and rehab centers for patients with a wide variety of neuropsychological disorders.

The department houses several laboratory complexes that are custom-designed for the kinds of research conducted, including the Center for Marital and Family Studies, the Center for the Study of Self and Others, the Child and Adolescent Mood and Emotion Lab (CAMEL), the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Lab, the Developmental Neuropsychology Center, the Emotion and Coping Lab, the Emotion Regulation Lab, the Colorado Project on Economic Strain, the Mechanisms of Cognitive Control Lab, the Perception/Action Lab, the Reading & Language Lab, the Relationship Center, the Social Neuroscience Lab, the Traumatic Stress Studies Lab, and the Psychophysiology Lab.  Labs are equipped with computers for controlling the presentation of stimuli and the collection of data. The psychophysiology labs include equipment to measure EDA, ECG, and EMG. The DCN lab includes a high-density electrophysiology system for measuring ERPs and EEGs in infants and young children, the Child Health and Development Lab includes a modified wetlab for preparation and storage of biologic samples. In addition, we have a host of conventional laboratory rooms with one-way observation windows and up-to-date audio and video recording equipment. Finally, we are closely partnered with the neuroimaging facilities at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center that allow us to conduct fMRI and MEG studies. In addition to research laboratories, the department also maintains its own clinical training facility, the Child and Family Psychology Center and the Neuropsychology Clinic.
