Lawrence Miller Graduate Fellowship

Funds will be available for one or two students to attend workshops and institutes that would advance their training. Proposals would be considered early in winter term to enable students to attend summer workshops. Area Heads would make the decisions regarding who receives these awards. The decision would be based on a student's academic credentials and how beneficial the workshop is likely to be to their career.

What should your application include?

The application should include the following items:

  1. A vita

  2. An itemized budget (may include travel, living expenses, fees, miscellaneous expenses like materials, computer time, etc.)

  3. A letter describing the institute/workshop and indicating how it will aid your education

  4. 4) A letter of recommendation from your advisor commenting on your ability, accomplishments, and the value of this workshop or institute for your training.

Other Important Information:

  • Awards will be decided on the basis of a student's record and the judged value of the proposed training opportunity. Decisions will be made by the Area Heads.
