Instructions for Downloading and Running XLISPSTAT

The UCLA site (http:/www.stat.ucla/textbook/demos) gives instructions for downloading and running Xlispstat.  However, the ftp address that is listed at this site no longer seems to work.  In addition, I have found the following procedure to be preferrable to the procedure listed at that site.
There are three steps to the process.  You will first download xlispstat via ftp.  Then you will download the desired applet from the UCLA site.  Then you will run the applet using xlispstat offline.

1. Download xlispstat

A. Launch your web browser and go to ftp://ftp.stat.umn.stat.edu/pub/xlispstat
B. Click on "3-52"
C. Click on "ms-win" if you are going to be running xlispstat in windows.  Otherwise choose the appropriate alternative option.
D. Click on "wxls32zp.exe"
E. Save the file to the directory of your choice -- its probably best if its an empty directory created specifically to hold xlispstat.  (For the sake of these instructions, I will assume you have saved it to a directory on your C drive called xlisp)
F. Minimize or exit your web browser
G. Click "Start" (in the lower left-hand corner)
H. Click "Programs"
I. Click "Windows Explorer"
J. Open the directory wherein you saved wxls32zp.exe
K. Double click on wxls32zp.exe
L. After Windows Explorer is finished, click the X in the upper right hand corner to close this window
2. Download the desired applet(s) from the UCLA site.
A. Go back to your web browser and go to the UCLA site: http://www.stat.ucla.edu/textbook/demos
B. Click on the name of the demo you wish to use (listed under one of the five sections).
C. Click on the "demo" button next to the demo you wish to use.
D. Click on "Save to disk" and save the demo to the same directory in which you saved wxls32zp.exe
3. Run the applet in xlispstat
A. Minimize or exit your web browser
B. Click "Start" (in the lower left-hand corner)
C. Click "Run"
D. Type "c:\xlisp\wxls32" (assuming you saved "wxls32zp.exe" in the directory called "xlisp" as specified above) and click "OK". This will launch xlispstat
E. Click "File" in the upper left-hand corner
F. Click "Load"
G. Type (or select) the name of the UCLA demo you downloaded in step 2 above and click "open"
H. Follow the instructions in the applet
