I graduated in Spring 2012 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.B.A. in Psychology and Marketing.  During my senior year I completed a thesis under Dr. Richard Davidson on the temporal dynamics of affective style. My cardinal research interests involve the interplay between emotion regulation and maladaptive cognitions in the development and persistence of clinical disorders, especially depressive and anxiety disorders.  I'm also more specifically interested in the role memory biases and negative cognitive schema play in the self-reporting of affect, and, in turn, how conscious appraisal of a current affective state influences consequent emotion regulation.  Two primary methodologies that I am interested in using to pursue this research are fMRI and ecological momentary assessment.  I plan on applying to clinical psychology PhD programs either this year or in 2013.
