During the first two years, students take courses on research design, statistical analyses (3 quarters), systems of psychotherapy, multicultural issues in mental health, psychopathology, intellectual assessment, and social/emotional assessment. They may also select advanced clinical electives and complete other department requirements. Additionally, specialized groups often develop out of mutual interests. Recently, these have included groups on adolescent psychopathology, multicultural psychology, neuroscience, and stress, trauma, and coping.
