Academic Advising

There are three faculty academic advisors in the Psychology Department (see contact information below). Academic advisors are available during their weekly office hours to discuss course offerings, degree requirements, and to assist you in planning your academic and career goals.

You can check office hours and make an appointment to meet with an advisor by following the instructions opened by clicking here.

You must see an advisor by the fall quarter of your sophomore year. If you are a transfer student, you must see an advisor by your second quarter at DU. This policy ensures that students take the proper courses required for the Psychology major, graduation, and those courses recommended for various career objectives.

We recommend that students see an academic advisor before each registration period and at other times during the year as the need arises. Students are also encouraged to talk to other faculty members about courses and career objectives. Recommended advising milestones and activities are available on the Advising Checklist page.

You may select any academic advisor in the department and may change at any time. Some students meet with the same academic advisor each quarter, while other students prefer more than one advisor.

APRs are available on-line through WebCentral and your registration time can be found by selecting the "Student" tab in webCentral and then selecting Registration Status. For general information and instructions about advising, see http://www.du.edu/registrar/regbill/reg_howto.html .
