Psychology BS Requirements University of Denver

  • The BS in Psychology requires all University BS degree requirements (see Bulletin)
  • Psychology major and 2 minors (one in natural or computer science or mathematics) OR additional natural or science major or mathematics major and 1 minor
    • MATC 1200 is recommended for students with appropriate background, but is not required
  • A minimum of 45 hours of Psychology courses
    • If you entered prior to Fall 2010 and used SOCS 1710 or PSYC1001 to satisfy part of the SOCS requirement, those hours satisfy the Foundations category but do not count towards the 45 required hours
  • At least 25 PSYC upper division hours (2000 and above)
  • Minimum GPA of 2.0 overall AND in the major
  • For a PSYC course to count towards a requirement and minimum hours, you must earn a C- or above
    However, even PSYC courses with D grades count against the 60 hour maximum                          
  • STAT 1300 or BIOL 2090 satisfy the Introductory Statistics category but the hours do not count towards the major
