Preparation for Psychiatric Nursing

Another option for students interested in clinical work is preparation for psychiatric nursing. Students who major in Psychology and minor in Biology, and who take courses in microbiology, human physiology, human anatomy, and ethics might pursue a one-year, concentrated BSN program. The BSN prepares students for nursing and is the first-step toward a masters degree in psychiatric nursing, which can include clinical and drug-related therapy training. Interested students should also consult advising for the pre-professional track in the Department of Biological Sciences.
