Vandergrift Undergraduate Scholarship in Psychology

The Elsie Lincoln Vandergrift Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student who shows promise and accomplishment in Psychology. This fund was established by Ms. Dorothy Helen Hanson to Honor her friend and mentor, Ms. Vandergrift Benedict, a DU psychology student from the 1890's.

All Psychology majors who will receive need or merit-based financial aid next year are eligible to apply. Preference is given to students who have fewer than 75 hours of university credit by the end of Winter Quarter. Contact the Office of Financial Aid (303.871.4020; finaid@du.edu) with questions regarding financial eligibility, the amount of the award, and the impact of this award on your financial aid package.

To apply for the award, please complete the application form and provide the requested information, then put in Dr. Danny McIntosh's mailbox in the lobby of Frontier Hall NO LATER THAN APRIL 15TH.

Note that receipt of funds from this award is contingent on approval by the Office of Financial Aid, and the funds replace other need or merit-based aid provided by the University of Denver. The winner of this award is announced at the Psychology and the University Award assemblies. The Scholarship recipient is expected to attend the annual donor-recipient award dinner organized by the University of Denver Office of Institutional Advancement. The monetary part of the scholarship award is disbursed during the subsequent academic year, beginning in Fall Quarter.

Please contact the Chair of the Psychology Department Undergraduate Affairs Committee (Dr. Daniel McIntosh, daniel.mcintosh@du.edu) with any questions regarding the application procedure.
