- Field trip to The Perseus Books Group, Boulder, CO to meet key staff members of an exciting independent publisher, which is also the leading provider of sales, marketing and distribution services to independent publishers.
- Birth of the Book: A discussion between Eric Jager, Author of Blood Royal: A True Tale of Crime and Detection in Medieval Paris, Little, Brown, Feb. 2014 and Karl Weber, President, Karl Weber Literary, former Editor and Publisher with McGraw-Hill, John Wiley & Sons, Times Business/Random House, Inc. Hosted by the Tattered Cover Book Store.
- Overview of Magazine Publishing. Daniel Brogan, editor and publisher, 5280 Magazine.
- Special Sessions on Career Development. Throughout the program, there will be special sessions on resumes, interviewing techniques and making connections through networking. During the final week, each student will have an opportunity for a one-on-one mock interview with a seasoned publisher.
