The Resource Center for Separating and Divorcing Families

For Students

The Resource Center for Separating and Divorcing Families provides a unique, multi-disciplinary training experience for students at the University of Denver's Graduate School of Social Work, Graduate School of Professional Psychology and Sturm College of Law. Students may apply to work at the RCSDF for one or two semesters or quarters, providing direct services for separating and divorcing families in the Denver area.

The mission of the RCSDF is to provide services which aim to foster healthy family reorganization and out-of-court resolution of disputes. The Center will work with the courts, but will remain an independent resource for divorcing and separating families. Students may expect to gain first hand experience in the provision of alternative dispute resolution services, assessment, client interviewing and client counseling.

Students will provide legal dispute resolution, therapeutic and educational services to families under the close supervision of practicing attorneys and licensed social workers and psychologists. Only students enrolled and in good standing in their respective programs may apply for externship, internship and practicum opportunities at the RCSDF.
