Instructions for Searching for Classes while Registering

This feature helps you find an open course section while you are registering. (If you need detailed course information in order to develop your entire schedule, you will be better served using the online Schedule of Classes prior to attempting to register. Click here for instructions for using the detailed online Schedule of Classes.)

Access the terms Schedule of Classes via Registration by logging into webCentral and clicking the MyWeb tab (refer to instructions above). Once you have selected the Registration menu, click Look Up Classes to Add. You will be taken to the Search by Term drop-down. Select the term and year for which you intend to register. Once you click submit you will be taken to the class search form. You are now ready to search for courses.

You must select a subject from the Subject drop-down. You may narrow your search to include Course Number, Title, Credit (hour) Range, Course Level (Graduate or Undergraduate), Instructor, Attribute Type (Honors, Service Learning, Womens College, Writing Intensive). You may also search for sections available at specific meeting times and days. Once you have entered your search criteria, click on Class Search.

The Sections Found listing includes basic schedule information. You can access additional information (Class Schedule Listing), such as prerequisites by clicking on the CRN (course reference number). You may also link to the course catalog entry from the Class Schedule Listing.

You may register for a class directly from the Sections Found listing by checking the box in front of the desired sections CRN. Once selected, click Register. If no check box appears, you may not register for the course. (See Below)

If you are designing your schedule and are not ready to enroll in a given course but want to see how it fits in your schedule, you may click Add to Worksheet and register later.

When you have successfully registered for the course(s), you will see the course under current schedule on the following page. Under status you will see web registered. Web registered is the only status that indicates successful registration.

If a letter code instead of a check-box appears in front of a desired course the course is not eligible for registration. Letter codes indicate why the course is not available:

  • C     The course is closed
  • NR     Registration for the course is not allowed at this time. You will see this code when you view a schedule for a term that is not yet open for registration or for which web registration is closed.
  • SR     This code will appear if you are not eligible to register for a course because of course restrictions, your time assignment or because you have registration holds.

Students Financial Liability: It is the students responsibility to know and abide with the Universitys payment and refund policies.
