As a part of the University of Denver, Ricks Center students have access to DU's resources and scholars. The University community, dedicated to life-long learning, provides a profound focus on implementing best practices.
This unique relationship provides children with the additional opportunity to interact with internationally recognized professors, attend cultural events and utilize the University's library and athletic facilities.
ricks center students visit du chemistry lab
During their studies on Natural Disasters, our 3rd and 4th graders were able to study in the environmental chemistry lab at the University of Denver. While in the lab students:
- Learned all about many ongoing projects in the lab, such as the 3-D modeling of proteins involved in our immune system responses.
- Observed how scientists view and study cells under the microscope, and even got to examine some soot particles under the scope themselves.
- Were excited to see how D.U. lab work is at play in real-life: currently, researchers are studying T.B. and working on producing vaccines.
