Environmental Health and Safety Resources

Listed below are environmental health and safety resources that may be helpful.

Occupational Safety & Health Aministration (OSHA)

The purpose of OSHA is to assure the safety and health of America's workers. How do they do that? OSHA sets and enforces standards in which employers, such as the University of Denver, must comply. In addition to enforcing these standards, OSHA provides various programs to assist the employer in making the workplace safer.

As a DU employee you have the right to call OSHA regarding an occupational health and safety concern at your workplace. As this department has the goal of ensuring you are working in a healthful and safe work environment, we ask that you first contact your department manager or the EH&S Manager regarding any health and safety issues. If an OSHA agent arrives on campus for an inspection, contact the Risk Management Department at 1-2327.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

While OSHA protects workers the EPA's goal is to protect the public and the environment.

Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE)

The CDPHE is similar to the EPA but at the state level.
