Critical Incident Response Team Institutional Response
The Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) Leader is the Director of Campus Safety or designee, who has the authority to manage the incident on behalf of the institution including closing campus if the incident warrants this for safety reasons.
The CIRT is required to be available 24/7 to respond to incidents that may impact the life safety, reputation, financial, property or operations of the University Community due to an incident involving our students, faculty or staff on a global basis.
The CIRT has authority to work with local authorities (police, fire, etc.), and manage the incident at the institutional level.
The CIRT consists of representatives of Campus Safety, Risk Management, Facilities Management, University Technology Services, University Communications and Environmental Health & Safety, University Counsel. Additional departments that may be impacted by the incident are included on an ad-hoc basis.
It is strongly recommended that all essential personnel be registered for CINS.
