Workers’ Compensation Procedure
Report all injuries within 24 hours
The Department of Risk Management at the University of Denver manages the workers’ compensation program for the university. If injured on the job while in the course of your employment you are allowed to seek medical treatment according the state and federal guidelines.
Notification of an Injury
- If life-threatening, contact 911, and call Campus Safety at 303.871.3000.
- For non life threatening injuries, seek medical treatment by contacting Campus Safety at 303.871.3000 or at designated provider (below).
- Employees should not transport injured parties unless paramedics have given approval.
- Notify Department of Risk Management within 24 hours
- Call Loss Control Manager at 303.871.2354 to start the process
- Fill out Employee First Report of Injury and return via fax to 303.871.4455 within 24 hours
- Have supervisor fill out “Supervisor’s Report of Injury” and return to Risk Management at 303.871.4455. (Click here to access forms)
- All lost time from work due to an injury has to be approved by the designated provider doctor in advance.
- Translation needs: Anyone needing translation services may request by scheduling appointment in advance after initial visits. Co-workers are prohibited from attending medical conferences w/doctors.
