Certificate of Insurance
The following is the protocol for charging, and binding coverage for “Tenant User Liability Insurance Policy (TULIP).”
Call the Loss Control Manager for any questions at 303.871.2354.
- All 3rd party “tenants” who use a DU facility for meetings,
parties, etc., are required to have either a certificate of
insurance on file per contract or agreement, or be charged for
TULIP.
- Certificates of Insurance should list DU as “Additional
Insured” as respects their interests in the amounts of $1
Million per occurrence; $2Million aggregate.
- TULIP should be paid to the requesting department. The Risk Management Department completes quarterly recharges for the TULIP premium.
- If TULIP is charged and not reported, there is no coverage. There
shall not be any misrepresentation of this charge for liability purposes
for the department and university. Any claims that arise from a charge
that has not been reported will be charged to the department at fault.
- Copies of all certificates of insurance for 3 rd parties need to
be forwarded to Risk Management prior to the event to ensure coverage.
- If a party does not have insurance and does not want to pay for TULIP,
please e-mail Director of Risk Management at Ellen.Shew@du.edu for
review.
- Note: All contracts need to be signed by those who have signature
authority approved through the Board of Directors, or their representatives.
- For requests that DU makes to 3 rd parties who have insurance, please
use the “Certificate Standard Request Form” and require
that DU be listed as “additional insured” in the description
box.
