Lifeguard Recertification Classes
Need to maintain your current American Red Cross (ARC) lifeguard certification? Need to refresh your skills?
Our lifeguard recertification class reviews preventative lifeguarding, in-water rescue techniques, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and basic first aid skills.
Upon successful completion of the course, you’ll renew your two-year certification in:
- American Red Cross lifeguard training
- first aid
- CPR for the professional rescuer
You must attend the entire class, complete all skills to instructors satisfaction, complete the online video portion of the class and provide proof of video completion to become recertified.
Prerequisites
To be eligible to register for the recertification class, you must be able to:
- provide proof of your current lifeguard, first aid and CPR certification at the time of class; and
- provide proof that you have completed the online video portion of the class before attending
You must bring a completed acknowledgement of risk form (PDF) to your first class. If you’re younger than 18, your parent/guardian must sign the form.

Lifeguard recertification classes for spring 2014 will be posted in January.
Cost
$50*
*You will also pay $45 directly to the American Red Cross when you register for the online video portion of the class. You will receive directions on how to set up your account to view the video a week before the class begins.
