Want to obtain an American Red Cross (ARC) lifeguard certification? Need to refresh your skills?
Our lifeguard class teaches preventative lifeguarding, in-water rescue techniques, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and basic first aid skills.
Upon successful completion of the course, you’ll receive a two-year certification in:
- American Red Cross lifeguard training
- first aid
- CPR for the professional rescuer
You must attend the entire class, complete all skills to instructors satisfaction, complete the online video portion of the class and provide proof of video completion to become certified.
Before you register you should be able to complete:
- a 300-yard continuous swim (100 yards freestyle, 100 yards breaststroke and 100 yards either breaststroke or freestyle); and
- a 20-yard swim (a surface dive to a depth of seven - 10 feet, retrieval of a 10-pound brick, a return to the surface and a 20-yard swim back to the starting point with the brick). You must complete the swim and exit the water without using a ladder or steps—all within one minute and 40 seconds.
You must bring a completed acknowledgement of risk form (PDF) to your first class. If you’re younger than 18, your parent/guardian must sign the form.
