Jr. Pioneers Hockey

Jr. Pioneers Hockey offers competitive youth hockey opportunities for 4-18 year olds in the Denver community.

We are part of the Colorado Competitive Youth Hockey League (CCYHL) and have more than 300 players in our association. Our mission is to provide a positive environment where players develop and learn about the game of hockey.

We teach sportsmanship, hockey skills and proper fundamentals, and strive to bring out the best in each of our players.

To achieve our mission, we focus on four core values:

Our home facility is Joy Burns Arena in the Daniel L. Ritchie Center for Sports and Wellness on the University of Denver campus.

Jr. Pioneers Hockey accomplishments

Our teams achieved the following accomplishments in the 2011-2012 season:

  • USA Hockey U12 Tier II National Champions (Peewee AA)
  • 3 Colorado Amateur Hockey Association state championships (Bantam B, Peewee AA, Squirt A)
  • 2 Colorado Competitive Youth Hockey League playoff championships (Peewee AA, Squirt A)
  • 1 Colorado Competitive Youth Hockey League playoff runner up (Bantam A)
  • 2 Colorado Competitive Youth Hockey League regular season championships (Bantam B, Peewee AA)
  • 17 tournament championships
