Club Curling
Club curling opens the door to this unique sport for students on the University of Denver campus.
Club curling is a member of both the College Curling Association and the Colorado Curling Association. Our members have the opportunity to compete in regional and national tournaments through both organizations.
Our team practices once per week in Joy Burns Arena. We do not require any previous curling experience, and we group members according to their experience levels.
We invite you to come out to our fall practices and experience this unique sport. Please contact any of our officers, listed below, if you have any questions or would like additional information about our team.
About the sport
Curling is a 400-year old sport that has changed little. It is played on a sheet of ice with eight stones delivered to each team per game. The goal is to be the team with the stone closest to center of the house.
One point is awarded for each stone closer than your opponent’s closest stone. Only one team can score per end, and there are 8 ends per game.
Recent accomplishments:
- The “B” team finished third at the 2012 regional curling championships in Bowling Green, Ohio.
