Intramural Sports

Intramural sports is an organized program that allows DU students, faculty and staff to participate in team competitions on campus. These sports provide a great opportunity for physical activity while promoting wellness, healthy competition and friendship.

Since 1927, intramural sports have been an integral part of the Pioneer student experience. Eighty-eight years after Professor Granville B. Johnson started the program, the original purpose of providing an athletic experience to as many students as possible still holds true.


We will offer the following intramural sports special events for winter quarter 2016:

  • 3v3 wallyball tournament
  • table tennis tournament

We will offer the following intramural sports leagues for winter quarter 2016:

  • 5v5 indoor soccer
  • arena flag football
  • 5v5 basketball
  • broomball
  • 6v6 volleyball

Find intramural sports schedules and rules at All participants must create an IMLeagues account and join a team prior to participation in the DU intramural sports program.


Registration for fall special events and leagues will open at 12 p.m. on January 1 and will close at 5 p.m. on January 19.

Please log in to to register your intramural sports team. Teams will be approved to join the league on a first-come/first-served basis.

Program Dates

Fall leagues regular season: January 24 - February 21 (no games on February 7 due to Winter Carnival)


  • indoor soccer, arena flag football, volleyball, basketball, broomball: $35/team
  • table tennis tournament: $5/team
  • wallyball tournament: $10/team
