Intramural Sports

Intramural sports is an organized program that allows DU students, faculty and staff to participate in team competitions on campus. These sports provide a great opportunity for physical activity while promoting wellness, healthy competition and friendship.

Since 1927, intramural sports have been an integral part of the Pioneer student experience. Eighty-seven years after Professor Granville B. Johnson started the program, the original purpose of providing an athletic experience to as many students as possible still holds true.


We will offer the following intramural sports special events for spring quarter:

  • table tennis tournament
  • cornhole tournament
  • Battleship tournament

We will offer the following intramural sports leagues for spring quarter:

  • outdoor soccer
  • flag football
  • basketball
  • broomball
  • 4v4 volleyball
  • ice hockey
  • Ultimate frisbee

Find intramural sports schedules and rules at All participants must create an IMLeagues account and join a team prior to participation in the DU intramural sports program.


Registration for spring special events and leagues will close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31. Registration for special events occurring later in the quarter will close at the times specified on IMLeagues.

Please log in to to register your intramural sports team. Teams will be approved to join the league on a first-come/first-served basis.

Program Dates

Winter leagues: April 5 - May 19


  • spring leagues (except ice hockey): $35/team
  • ice hockey: $200/team
  • table tennis tournament: $5/participant
  • cornhole tournament: $10/team
  • Battleship tournament: $20/team
