Beginning in the autumn term of the 2013-2014 Academic Year, the Daniel Felix Ritchie School of Engineering & Computer Science (Ritchie School), will be offering a 1-Year MS Degree Program in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering and a 1-Year MS Degree Program in the Department of Mechanical & Materials Engineering.
The 1-Year MS Degree Program in Engineering is a non-thesis Master of Science in Engineering Degree. The 1-Year MS Degree Program is an accelerated option for students, equivalent in credit hours and rigor to our traditional two-year MS Degree Programs. The 1-Year MS Degree Program provides cutting-edge research opportunities with state-of the-art equipment in the development of technology for the public good. In four academic quarters, (twelve-months) graduate students have the opportunity to earn a high quality MS Degree in Engineering with the opportunity to specialize in a track that meets the demands of the evolving technological needs in the world and global economy.
In the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, there are five specializations for the MS Degree Program:
1. Intelligent Information Systems Design
2. Electric Power & Energy Systems
3. Microelectronics, Microsystems & Nanotechnology
4. Modern Communications System Design
5. Mechatronic System Engineering
In the Department of Mechanical & Materials Engineering, there are four specializations for the MSME Degree Program:
1. Thermal Fluids
2. Solids and Materials
3. Dynamic Systems
