Education and Experience
Dr. Mohammad H. Mahoor is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Denver. He received the Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Miami, Florida in 2007. As an outstanding graduate student he was granted the Eliahu & Joyce Jury Award in 2007 at the University of Miami. Dr. Mahoor continued his work as a Post-Doctoral fellow at the University of Miami where he received the Marino Autism Research Institute award for research on facial expressions analysis of children with Autism. He joined the engineering faculty of the University of Denver in September 2008.
Areas of Research
His area of research lies in image processing, computer vision and pattern recognition, and particularly in object modeling and recognition. He has worked on multi-modal (2-D and 3-D) face modeling and recognition and facial expressions analysis of children. Also, multimedia system, computer vision, medical image analysis, Biometrics (Face, ear, iris, ?) and facial expressions analysis.
