Research PhD Project

My research mainly focused on the microstructure characterization using different techniques (e.g. HRTEM, TEM, SEM and related techniques). My dissertation specifically looked at the stability of rapidly solidified Al-Alloys at elevated temperatures.

Areas of Research

I am looking to continue research in the area of microstructure characterization and mechanical behavior of novel materials - metallic alloys and metal matrix composites. My primary research interests are in the area of characterization of structure-properties-manufacturing relationships using advanced analytical techniques, particularly related to electron microscopy and mechanical testing techniques. Recently I have been involved in a research project in the Center for Novel High/Voltage/Temperature Materials and Structures, which is funded by Lockheed Martin. The project focuses on the microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of Electron Beam Melting Ti alloys - a novel manufacturing technique.
