Learning from the Spirituals: An Evening with Sankofa

Please join us for a Black History Month performance by Sankofa, a 25-voice a cappella ensemble of the Spirituals Project Choir, dedicated to sharing the beautiful concertized versions of the spirituals. Sankofa is an African adinkra symbol that illustrates the wisdom in learning from the past as we move toward building the future. A dessert reception follows the concert. This event has passed. Members of the Four Corners community are cordially invited to a GSSW 80th Anniversary Celebration at the Durango Doubletree Hotel, 501 Camino Del Rio, Durango, CO 81301. American Humane Endowed Chair Frank R. Ascione, Executive Director of GSSW's Institute for Human-Animal Connection, will present a lecture entitled "Safe havens for women, children, and animals: A research journey" from 3:00-5:00 p.m. A reception (appetizers and a cash bar) will follow.
