A doctoral education requires financial investment, but we offer financial aid that makes GSSW affordable.

Graduate school expenses

Below is a breakdown of expenses for doctoral students at the University of Denver for the 2012-2013 academic year:

Doctoral student financial aid

Receipt of your completed application is needed by the GSSW Office of Admission by January 15, 2013 to be considered for entrance into the program in fall 2013. However, for best admission and financial aid consideration, we ask that you submit your PhD application by December 15, 2012.  Financial aid available to doctoral students includes:

  • Teaching and research assistantships that include a full tuition waiver, plus a $16,000 stipend.
  • Fellowships ranging from $1,000 to $4,500 per year for students enrolled in a minimum of 8 credit hours per quarter.
  • Loans including Stafford Loans as well as private loans. Filing the FAFSA online is the first step in the financial aid process and is required if you want to be considered for student loans. The FAFSA become available online on January 1 of each year. The institutional code for the University of Denver is 001371.
